We moved to New Bern in 2005 after living in various cities in the eastern half of the US, and we have never looked back. We discovered what attracts people from so many areas to this lovely town.   

If you are a student of history but want modern conveniences and amenities, you will love New Bern.   The town was founded in 1710 and was one of the first capitals of North Carolina.   There is a lovingly restored downtown area with local shops and restaurants.   Walk to the N.C History Museum and visit Tryon Palace, the reconstructed replica of the colonial governor's palace.   Enjoy scenic views of the Neuse and Trent Rivers that come together at New Bern.  New Bern has an award winning Five Star hospital, Carolina East Medical Center and countless medical practices.   There are communities that feature golf, swimming and tennis, and there is plenty of waterfront to enjoy.   Home prices range from affordable to luxury, so there is something for everyone in this wonderfully diverse part of North Carolina.
